I was born in 1987, in the 'City of Joy' - Calcutta, India. Calcutta (now 'Kolkata'), situated in the Ganges Delta, is often said to be the friendliest and most hospitable city in India. Although teeming with modernization lately, it still holds back centuries of rich heritage and cultural values.
My father, a gold-medalist veteran in Wildlife and People Photography, has been associated with the art since he was aged 16. He has had the privilege to work withNational Geographic and MAGNUM Photographers like David Alan Harvey, Thomas Thomaswezki, Antonio Turok, Mary Ellen Mark, Raul Tauzon and others in expeditions around the world; my own aspirations rise much higher, however.
My deepest inspiration comes from war-photographer James Nachtwey. A man bearing such tremendous personality is almost impossible to find. More than just clicking the shutter, I enjoy learning continuously.
For the aims I have chosen to set for myself, the opportunities are always endless.
